Redco™ PEEK possesses superior chemical resistance allowing it to work effectively as a metal replacement in harsh environments. It is also inert to all common solvents and resists a wide range of organic and inorganic liquids, when extensive machining is required, a secondary annealing process should be considered.
Redco™ PEEK is an excellent material for a wide spectrum of applications where thermal, chemical, and combustion properties are critical to performance. Especially significant, in this regard, is Redco™ PEEK’s ability to retain flexural and tensile properties at very high temperatures; in excess of 250°C (482°F).
The addition of glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforcements enhances the mechanical and thermal properties of the basic PEEK material.
Redco™ PEEK is used in automotive engine parts, aerospace components, earth moving equipment, semi-conductor parts, wire and cable coating, etc.
Redco™ Ultem has a continuous use temperature of 332°F. It is used widely in the electronic’s market because of its good arc resistance and dielectric constant. It is also a prime material for medical applications because of its ability to withstand multiple autoclave steam sterilizations.
*Ultem is a registered trademark of G.E. Plastics.
Redco™ Polysulfone is a tough, rigid, high strength transparent thermoplastic which maintains its properties over a wide temperature range from -150°F to above 300°F. Redco™ Polysulfone is also FDA Approved.
Polysulfone has very high dimensional stability and very high resistance to mineral acids, alkali, and salt solutions, even at elevated temperatures under moderate stress levels.
