Visitor Safety Orientation

Redwood Plastics and Rubber is a manufacturing company whose mission is to support long-standing relationships through ethical and respectful interaction with their customers and suppliers. Redwood Plastics and Rubber employees are proud of these relationships and are committed to 100% customer satisfaction.

The following policy applies to all visitors at all locations of Redwood Plastics and Rubber.

Parking

Visitors are encouraged to use designated Visitor Parking spots. If full, regular employee parking spots can be used.

All Visitors must check-in with the receptionist and sign in to the visitor log book.

All Visitors must have a scheduled appointment and arrive to meet the employee(s) at the time of check-in.

Visitor Badges

All Visitors must wear a visitor badge.

Safety glasses are required for the entire manufacturing area.

High visibility apparel is required during visits.

Respirators are required for the entire urethane area.

Photographs & Cameras

Photography is not permitted inside Redwood Plastics & Rubber facilities
Photos for documentation will be provided by a Redwood Plastics & Rubber employee
Employees with questions about photo suitability are to consult Human Resources.

Emergency Evacuation

Visitors will be brought to the muster point by a Redwood Plastics employee.

Emergency Coordinators will tally all Visitors using the Visitor Check-In information

Visitors shall not leave the property until the Emergency Coordinators have confirmed they have successfully evacuated.

Multiple Day Visits & Contractors

Multi-day Visitors must follow all procedures associated with this policy on each day of their visit.
Contractors must read, understand, and follow the Contractor Safety Policy, including the use of all required PPE, safe-work practices, and housekeeping/cleanliness.

Facility Tours 

Redwood Employees will accompany all Visitors or Groups on a tour at all times. Un-chaperoned visitors are not allowed.

Visitors on tours are to follow all PPE requirements. PPE such as safety glasses, high visibility apparel, and more, are available through the Redwood employee conducting the tour.

Visitors must adhere to the designated Safe Walk areas within Redwood Plastics manufacturing areas.

Network & System Access

Consultants or other Visitors that require internet network access can access the Visitor Wireless Network.

Upon request, the Visitor Wireless Network password wil be provided by the Redwood Employee they are visiting.

Use of Visitor Wireless constitutes acceptance of our Network & Systems Usage Policy.

Check-Out

Following the visit, visitors will check out where they checked in

Courtesy

Even in the case of clear policy violations, all actions, dealings, and conversations are to be courteous in nature.

Agreement

a) Approved steel toe footwear, high visibility apparel, and eye protection is mandatory when visiting the shop floor and shall be worn at all times.

b) Always walk. Running is not allowed in the facility.

c) Horseplay, rough-housing, or boisterous conduct will not be tolerated.

d) All accidents and near misses must be reported to the contractors contact person immediately. An incident report is to be filled out immediately and completed within 24 hours of the accident/incident.

e) Any contractor’s equipment that is brought onto the worksite is to be in safe operational condition. Any defects are to be noted and corrected by the contractor before resuming use of the equipment.
